WAVA Wildfire Resources

Our state wildfires have impacted our communities and WAVA families and friends.  Please stay informed of local resources.  The safety of our WAVA families is the most important priority.  If you are in an area of wildfire impact there are local programs set up for shelters at schools and businesses and donation drops. Our Learning Coach FB pages also are a place to connect for peer to peer support and outreach.  A wildfire can spread quickly across forests and fields, giving you little time to evacuate to safety as we have seen. Get the facts about wildfires and learn what to do to keep your loved ones safe!

Top Tips

  1. Listen to local area radio, online resources or TV stations for the latest wildfire information.

  2. Be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice – use the fire map locators.

  3. Have an emergency kit and replenish any items missing or in short supply, especially medications or medical supplies.

  4. Create a neighborhood or community emergency plan.

  5. Your family safety is first
